After a successful 2023, LB Group is set for an exciting 2024!

2023 proved to be a fantastic year for LB Group, Chartered Accountants and Tax Specialists, including private equity investment in May from Sovereign Capital Partners and expansion of services and personnel throughout 2023. In the last quarter alone, the business celebrated a number of senior appointments, promotions and development of new services.

In the Accounts team, Luke Wiseman joined as a Senior Manager to oversee a portfolio of business clients across the Ipswich and Colchester offices. In October, Andrew Runnicles joined the Audit team as Associate Director. After training with KPMG, Andrew spent 10 years advising businesses across the UK and internationally in an audit capacity ranging from small OMBs to large PE backed and listed Group’s before joining LB’s Chelmsford office.

Emma Cohen joined in November to lead the firm’s Digital Solutions and Cloud Accounting offering. With a wealth of digital accountancy experience, her appointment will enhance LB’s advice to clients in relation to the latest technology, how they can harness these tools to improve their systems and how they can implement them, using the latest technology to their best advantage.

Alongside these new appointments, the firm also celebrated promotions for Tom Butterworth, Harry King and Eleanor O’Brien, who were all promoted to Associate Director within the Tax team. With almost 20 years’ experience in finance and general/mixed taxation, Tom specialises in property tax matters for clients as well as working with an established network of professional advisers.

Harry manages the Tax Team in the Ipswich office, which he has successfully grown over the past few years, providing compliance and advisory services. Eleanor heads up the Tax Team in the Stratford office and specialises in providing advisory services to clients. Their appointments to Associate Director and the Tax team board will ensure the wider LB Group Tax Team continues to drive forward its offering and broaden its client base.

Rebecca Pearcy was also promoted to the Accounts service line board in November. She will work with Head of Accounts, Chris Annis, to support the ongoing development of LB Group’s Accounts offering and support the development of the Accounts team.

In September, Nicki Ramsbottom joined as Head of Marketing as part of the firm’s commitment to invest in Marketing and Business Development. A strategic marketer, Nicki brings 20 years of experience in Professional Services throughout East Anglia and London. She is a keen advocate of training and development for marketers and is Chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Committee for East of England. The marketing team was further strengthened in December with the addition of Andrea Smith as Digital and Campaigns Manager. A Chartered Marketer and keen digital specialist, she brings a wealth of experience to the role, from both Professional Services and agency backgrounds.

These successes in 2023 lay the perfect foundation for 2024, in which the Group has further plans for development and expansion, with more news set to come soon.
