Qualified Audit and Accounts Senior Role in Chelmsford

LB Group, a top 75 accountancy firm, is looking to recruit a qualified accountant to join their Audit and Accounts team in the growing Chelmsford office. Working to deliver a broad range of audit and accounts services to a number of business clients, this opportunity would suit an individual who is looking to progress their career. The ideal candidate will be either newly qualified, or a few years post qualified, with at least 3 years practice experience to include relevant audit experience.

The main duties of the role are:

  • All aspects of the audit process including planning, finalisation and leading audit work at clients’ premises;
  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts;
  • Preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts;
  • Assisting clients with queries;
  • Assist with the management of the staff;
  • Ad hoc financial duties;
  • Assisting senior staff with ad hoc projects;

Key characteristics include strong attention to detail and communication skills, a professional approach to clients and colleagues and a firm commitment to providing top quality client service. The ability to drive and live locally to the Chelmsford office will be essential. We expect the role to be roughly 60% audit focused.

Tax Senior / Tax Manager Role – Colchester office

LB Group, a top 75 accountancy firm, is looking to recruit a qualified tax adviser to their tax team. The role is for the Colchester office. Working closely with senior staff to deliver a broad range of tax services to high net worth individuals and business clients, this opportunity would suit a CTA qualified (or equivalent) individual with at least 1-2 years post qualification experience in a corporate tax role. Consideration would also be given to candidates currently studying towards CTA.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Management of a corporate tax portfolio.
  • Review of corporation tax computations and tax returns.
  • Providing guidance to colleagues in the accounts departments on tax-specific matters
  • Providing technical support and training to more junior team members
  • Assisting senior staff with ad hoc projects and technical advisory work.

The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate tax or mixed tax within an accountancy firm environment, preferably with some tax advisory experience. Key characteristics include a commercial approach, strong attention to detail and communication skills, a professional approach to clients and colleagues and a firm commitment to providing top quality client service. Tax Semi Senior – Colchester office

LB Group, a top 75 accountancy firm, is looking to recruit a tax semi senior to their tax team. The role is for the Colchester office. Working closely with senior staff to deliver a broad range of tax services to high net worth individuals and business clients, this opportunity would suit an ATT-qualified (or equivalent) individual with at least 1-2 years post qualification experience. Full study support for CTA and an opportunity for career progression will be available for the right candidate.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Preparation of self-employment accounts and self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts for review by senior staff.
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations and tax returns for review by senior staff.
  • Providing guidance to colleagues in the accounts departments on tax-specific matters
  • Providing technical support and training to more junior team members
  • Assisting senior staff with ad hoc projects and technical advisory work.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of experience in personal, corporate or mixed tax within an accountancy firm environment. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to work additional hours as required, especially during the busy period leading up to the self assessment tax return deadline in January.

Accounts Trainee Role – Ipswich office

Payroll Administrator – Colchester office

LB Group Chartered Accountants are a Top 75 firm in the UK of accountants providing Audit, Tax and Advisory Services across a variety of industries.

Our payroll department, based in our Colchester office, are currently looking to recruit a full time Payroll Administrator. We are looking to recruit someone with payroll experience, ideally bureau experience.

The chosen candidate will be working very closely with all payroll team members, and will report to the Payroll Supervisor. They will have solid overall payroll experience, including running end to end processes. The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:-

  • Customer Service
  • Attention to detail & a high level of accuracy
  • Organisational skills
  • Analysing information
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment

The job role involves co-ordination and calculation of multiple client payroll’s, to include the following day to day tasks: –

  • Process client payrolls in line with the appropriate procedures
  • Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data
  • Creating and maintaining employee records
  • Adhere to payroll policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with legislation
  • Reporting to HMRC in line with RTI requirements
  • Issue statutory forms in line with legislation (P60s, P45s)
  • Liaising with HMRC to reconcile PAYE accounts and resolve payment queries
  • Processing and providing internal contacts with required reports
  • Processing payroll calculations to include statutory payments such as SSP, SMP etc
  • Processing monthly CIS returns

To be considered for this role candidates will be required to have previous payroll processing experience and be confident dealing with manual calculations. Although not essential, CIS experience would be beneficial.
