Client Overview

Our client, a catering company, was facing a challenge when the FD had to reduce their hours to 2 days a week, working remotely, due to a family commitment. At the same time, the shareholders were looking to sell the business and were about to enter negotiations with an interested party.

How we supported the client

To ensure the business continued to operate with a change in financial support, a member our of team provided support as a part time interim Financial Controller. This involved the following:

• Setting up and reviewing payments
• Ensuring compliance deadlines such as VAT filing deadlines were met
• Providing onsite support to the three other finance team members and overseeing their responsibilities Dealing with Adhoc questions from the MD and senior team when the FD was not available
• Ensuring that the books and records were as up to date as possible
• Preparing management accounts on a timely basis

Results

As a result of the services we provided the company was able to continue operating effectively despite the partial loss of a key member of the senior team.
This helped the shareholders to continue to focus on the sale of the business, whilst also ensuring that the management information needed for this process was readily available.
