Purpose of the role:
Due to continued growth, LB Group is recruiting for an Audit Trainee to come and join the Audit team in our Halstead office. Trading as Richards Edwards Group at present, we are currently in a rebranding process and will during the early part of 2025, work under the LB Group brand.
A role in our audit team is varied, you will be exposed to the different areas of the audit process such as planning and identifying risk, having a need to understand our clients as well as financial reporting. You will build relationships with the group wide audit team, Partners and clients; developing your professional skills as we support you through your qualification.
We will pay for all your tuition and institute fees and help you to study towards the appropriate professional qualification by providing time off for study days, and you will receive support from your dedicated line manager.
Accountabilities:
· Communicating and building working relationships with clients and other employees within relevant departments across the group.
· Planning, execution and completion of statutory audits, reporting to managers and partners.
· Preparation of statutory accounts, including review of disclosure requirements.
· Co-ordinate and communicate plans with clients, to ensure deadlines are met.
· Beginning to lead on-site audit teams and completing jobs with minimal supervision from the second year of contract, ensuring quality is met within budget.
· Monitoring and progressing less experienced trainees and team members from within your second year.
· Engaging in business development, promoting the Firm and its services to existing and potential clients.
Skills/Qualifications:
We are seeking a candidate that has:
· Existing/recent entry level work experience in the accounting profession would be ideal, but not essential.
· A degree (2:2 or above) and/or
· Minimum 2 x A levels (at A-C) and one other A level or equivalent
· 5 GCSEs grades A*- C or 9-4 (Maths and English Language preferred) or equivalent.
· A passion for working with people.
· Strong at networking & relationship building skills.
· Determination to study and take exams to become qualified.
· All candidates will be required to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the training contract.
