Payroll Manager – Colchester based
LB Group, a top 75 Chartered Accountancy firm, are looking to recruit a Payroll Manager who is looking for that next step in their career.

The role will be based in our Colchester office managing the payroll team and our payroll clients for the firm as a whole.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Overall management of a portfolio of circa 600 payroll clients, consisting of annual schemes, auto payrolls and complex payroll schemes.
  • Management of the overall weekly and monthly processes to ensure all payrolls are sent to client and submitted to HMRC on a timely basis.
  • Working closely with our pension specialist to ensure pension uploads are managed.
  • Supervision of a small team. This will include regular appraisals and development of those staff.
  • The management of the client portfolio and team will be undertaken alongside a part time payroll manager.
  • Constant review of our current procedures to ensure efficiencies are implemented where necessary
  • Working closely with other team members and partners to provide high level client service.
  • Working collegiately as a team to improve compliance processes and workflows within the payroll team.
  • Constant and effective liaison with all stakeholders.
  • Building and maintaining key relationships both internally and externally. This will be with clients and our professional connections.
  • Management of WIP, billing and debtors for the payroll portfolio
  • You will report directly into the two tax partners based in the Colchester office.

Tax Manager – Ipswich based
LB Group, a top 75 Chartered Accountancy firm, are looking to recruit a Tax Manager who is looking for that next step in their tax career. The role will be a mixed tax role and will be of both a compliance and advisory nature.

The position is based at our Ipswich office and you will be responsible for the following:

  • Management of a mixed portfolio of personal and corporate clients
  • Management of ATED, ERS and P11Ds for the Ipswich office.
  • Supervision of one staff member. This will include regular appraisals and development of such staff, their study progress, career progress and a review of their work undertaken.
  • Working closely with the accounts staff and partner within the Ipswich office to provide high level client service.
  • Working collegiately with the other tax managers across the 4 LB Group offices to improve compliance processes and workflows within the tax team.

Qualified Audit and Accounts Senior Role in Chelmsford
LB Group, a top 75 accountancy firm, is looking to recruit a qualified accountant to join their Audit and Accounts team in the growing Chelmsford office. Working to deliver a broad range of audit and accounts services to a number of business clients, this opportunity would suit an individual who is looking to progress their career. The ideal candidate will be either newly qualified, or a few years post qualified, with at least 3 years practice experience to include relevant audit experience.

The main duties of the role are:

  • All aspects of the audit process including planning, finalisation and leading audit work at clients’ premises;
  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts;
  • Preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts;
  • Assisting clients with queries;
  • Assist with the management of the staff;
  • Ad hoc financial duties;
