Payroll Senior Role in Colchester
LB Group Chartered Accountants are a Top 75 firm in the UK of accountants providing Audit, Tax and Advisory Services across a variety of industries.

Our payroll department, based in our Colchester office, are currently looking to recruit for a Payroll Senior position on a permanent contract. The ideal candidate will be someone with payroll experience, preferably bureau experience.

The chosen candidate will be working very closely with all payroll team members and will report to the Payroll Supervisor. They will have solid overall payroll experience, including running end to end processes. The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills: –

  • Customer Service
  • Attention to detail & a high level of accuracy
  • Organisational skills
  • Analysing information
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment

The job role involves co-ordination and calculation of multiple client payroll’s, to include the following day to day tasks: –

  • Process client payrolls in line with the appropriate procedures
  • Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data
  • Creating and maintaining employee records
  • Adhere to payroll policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with legislation
  • Reporting to HMRC in line with RTI requirements
  • Issue statutory forms in line with legislation (P60s, P45s)
  • Liaising with HMRC to reconcile PAYE accounts and resolve payment queries
  • Processing and providing internal contacts with required reports
  • Processing payroll calculations to include statutory payments such as SSP, SMP etc
  • Processing monthly CIS returns

To be considered for this role candidates will be required to have previous payroll processing experience and be confident dealing with manual calculations. Although not essential, CIS experience would be beneficial.

Audit and Accounts Manager in Stratford

The successful candidate will need to be driven and have the ability to work autonomously, generating new business, as well as managing and developing the audit and accounts team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a client portfolio
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients
  • Liaising with the clients on all aspects of the audit or accounts and to be the main point of contact for any ad hoc queries.
  • Ability to understand how tax impacts both personal and company elements with a view of planning thereon
  • Job planning, supervision and finalisation.
  • Coaching and developing junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensures agreed deliverables are within the set time frame
  • Controlling and delivering any work required on a range of audit and non-audit accounts assignments, meeting all internal, client based and legislative deadlines.
  • Ensuring that the firm’s standard processes are used in the production of audit and accounts work in all aspects and for ensuring that technical standards are maintained with the ability to answer technical questions proficiently and confidently.

Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • All applicants must have substantial audit experience

Director/Partner – LB Group Stratford
Looking for a forward thinking, business minded Director for the LB Group Stratford office. Candidates must be able to display strong financial and commercial acumen underpinned by a solid accounting, tax and advisory foundation.

All candidates must be in a position to either have a fee following or the ability to win new business from existing contacts in order to grow the office. The desire and willingness to grow the current office turnover is a must for this role.

Day to day duties of the Director:

Key skillsets to include:

Desired skills, though not essential:

  • Knowledge and experience of the CCH office management, tax and accounting system;
